Trained in the ancient calling and service of Spiritual Direction as well as trauma-informed care, I am a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental listening presence for those who long for a deeper relationship with their own soul and kinship and connection with all of creation!
No matter who you are, where you’re from, who you love, what you believe, your age, race, ethnic origin, gender, religion or beliefs… You will be loved and welcomed just as you are!
Whether we are walking in nature amongst God's creatures or sitting on a couch by the fire, Beckie is always listening, noticing and paying attention. Through seasons of worry, pain, excitement, deconstruction, loss, growth and joy, she has been present to my sifting and processing. Beckie has a great gift of sensing what may be most important in the moment and I have always felt an abundance of safety to share - whether it was my hardest spiritual questions, my deepest worries, or the precise ways in which I have experienced the with-ness of God. Each session I seem to come with a plan and I leave every single session having experienced something much richer than any plan could account for… Receiving spiritual direction is a sacred rhythm and it is a crucial part of my self care. I also love to weave the expressive arts as well as reflective and embodied contemplative spirituality practices into sessions for your deep, long-lasting anchoring of the Holy! You can walk the labyrinth in the back acre of my country home, forest bathe at local Sheedy Sanctuary Nature Preserve or sink into the soft cushions of my well-loved couch and just gaze out at all of creation and just BREATHE/BE!

Beckie is a graduate of the Wellstreams Ecumenical Program of Spiritual Formation and Training in the Art of Spiritual Direction and is a member of Spiritual Directors International and the Spiritual Directors Association of Ohio. She is also trained in trauma-informed care as a Sexual Assault Response Network advocate and Equine Assisted Learning practitioner.
Beckie lives in the country and practices a quiet, simple, contemplative lifestyle and wild spirituality that supports the gifts and challenges of being an introvert who lives with the dis-ease of chronic pain.
She has come to think of her true self as what Terry Tempest Williams calls an "edge walker" (one who travels "...the narrow space between the religious tradition she credits for having forged her soul, and her direct and very personal experiences in nature that have revealed a truth of their own.") and a "nature mystic" (one who experiences the presence of the sacred through nature).
Mother Earth is her sanctuary and all creation speaks of her beloved Spiritual Companion.
She was raised and confirmed Methodist, was attracted to indigenous culture and spirituality as a child, employed Presbyterian for 10 years and introduced to Buddhism and Celtic spirituality by the Catholic nuns who guided her spiritual formation as a spiritual director-in-training.
She participated in a tiny but mighty rural community of compassionate, inclusive Lutherans for many years until the closing of that church.
Most days she attends church in the woods and/or barn and is exploring her earth-based spirituality more deeply through the emerging Wild Church movement.
Beckie has been on a lifelong spiritual journey toward "soul wholeness" and healing that has been rather messy yet miraculous.
She now finds herself a saging, aging mama of her "best thing that ever happened to me" son as well as young-at-heart nanna to her 2 beautiful grandchildren.
